Valtteri Bottas, Daniel Ricciardo, Max Verstappen and Alexnader Albon undertook the F1 Los Angeles show event ahead of this weekend’s US GP.

Increasing its presence stateside, F1 put on quite a show on Wednesday evening with the Los Angeles F1 Fan Festival event on Hollywood Boulevard, in the run-up to this weekend’s US GP in Austin at Circuit of the Americas.

The free-to-attend event had displays from up and down the grid as well as a concert, with Red Bull’s Verstappen and Albon in attendance alongside Mercedes’ Bottas and Renault’s Ricciardo, who led the group, beginning by dancing and doing donuts.

He set the trend for the rest of the day, as most demonstrations followed the laying-down-rubber theme, albeit, in different variations. Following him was Red Bull’s Albon, who made his showrun debut for Red Bull and also at a F1 fan event.

It was Bottas’ turn then to drive at the Boulevard, leaving his mark in the iconic street in a similar fashion to Ricciardo and Albon, as he did a burnout, before promptly waving to the fans, and doing more donuts like his Australian counterpart.

There was a donut competition as well where Ricciardo started off with Verstappen and Bottas following – the Dutchman getting his first taste of the Boulevard as they shredded through several sets of Pirelli’s tyres on the tarmac.

The competition was being judged by Brian Tyler, who has produced the F1 theme. Tyler opened the fan event with his orchestra team and also played a slightly different tune in the middle, post the stunts performed by a professional on a bike.

Bottas was adjudged the winner of the donut competition and was presented a Pirelli mini tyre. The Finn drove the W08, the only one driving a V6 hybrid car. Ricciardo drove the Renault E20, while the Red Bull pair had the solo RB7 to play with.

They ended the event with a triple donut involving Bottas, Ricciardo and Verstappen. F1 Fan Festival will continue with another one in Sao Paulo ahead of Brazil GP. That festival, however, will be Ayrton Senna-centric, as the Brazilian will be celebrated during the event.
