Max Verstappen was the first to drive the Red Bull Racing Honda RB16 at Silverstone for shakedown ahead of the F1 pre-season tests at Barcelona.

Verstappen got the first taste of a 2020 F1 car on track, when he drove the Red Bull RB16 at Silverstone during the team’s filming day. The Dutchman was sole to drive the new machine with Alexander Albon watching on from the sidelines.

The Thai racer shared his thoughts on Instagram, though, as he waits for his chance to drive next week in the first F1 pre-season test at Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona. Verstappen, meanwhile, used the national circuit at Silverstone for filming.

Not much information was shared apart from Verstappen sharing a short message. “I just finished my filming day and first day in the RB16,” he said. “It was very positive. It’s important to get the car running and check all the bits on the car that it is all working before we head to Barcelona. I can’t wait to be there.”
