Drivers got the first sesion times quite fast and have been improving their times as the track has been cleaned. Sebastian Saavedra caused a red flag for his off track in Turn 2 after fifteen minutes of the session. Helio Castroneves took the lead in the middle of the practice session. It remains last 20 minutes all the drivers changed wheels to face his last stint. At that time Graham Rahal has been first, he is showing very strong driver but Takuma Sato took his first position.
