Dennis Olsen has escaped from the group to take the win in the second race. Due to rain there have been two safety cars that have shortened the competition. Leclerc and D’Agosto close the podium while De Vries was fourth. Bonifacio has left due to a racing incident and Olsen placed fourth in the championship.

Rugged but interesting was the second Formula Renault 2.0. The grid was especially interesting because the winner from yesterday, Nyck De Vries, started from the fifth position, and Charles Leclerc, Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS driver Nürburgring and boasts a Wild Card -a guest driver so he does not score for the championship- from the second position. There was dirt on the first turn and the sky was filled with black clouds but the race was declared dry. And so the race has started, without any drop over the asphalt.
The start was clean. The first grid positions have remained the same except Aitken, who after making a poor start lose two positions. The incidents have come in lap four, when in touch with Owens, Bonifacio has left the track spinning and unable to do anything, O’Keeffe was over him. Both have left their cars and have been discussing while direction of race gave the order for the safety car to come out.
During the safety car, the rain began in the curve number 3. Directorate declared wet race and the first and only driver to stop was Amweg. Missing 15 minutes and the rainy race tightened. The safety car gets to the pit lane and Olsen accelerates to reach the finish line.
Cassidy gets outside the track and Leclerc gets second. Tveter spins and Kevin Jörg face him. Inevitably, both drivers abandon the race, leaving the car in the middle of the track, a fact that forces race direction to get the safety car to neutralize the race when Leclerc was just about to take over the first position. On the other hand, Orudzhev was then ninth due to a runway. With less than 8 minutes from the end, the safety car left the track, and also the competition. It had stopped raining.
De Vries tried to overtake his teammate Ignazio D’Agosto, but the Italian fought back well enough and would make it impossible to the Dane, who just suffered engine problems that would force now to defend his other teammate, Nick Cassidy. During the turn, Aitken would overtake Orudzhev Pizzitola Delétraz and in a nice battle would later be returned. Albon also would with Schothorst.
The win went for Olsen who goes to the second place in the championship, fourteen points forDe Vries at the expense of Bonifacio, which is now third. Bad luck also for Kevin Jörg, after the unfortunate incident went down to sixth place in the championship.
The World Series by Renault is now taking summer vacations and will return to Formula Renault 2.0 Hungaroring on 13 September.
