Lando Norris was the fastest on the first day of FIA F3 European Championship testing, at the Hungaroring, with the rookie Joey Mawson close to the McLaren driver.

Norris‘ best time, 1:34.893, was set during the morning session, which was dominated by Carlin.

The British took advantage of three tenths over the second classified, beating his teammate Jake Dennis, who was called at the lastest moments to participate in this test.

The rookie Joey Mawson (Van Amersfoort Racing) was the fastest in the afternoon session. Mawson and Norris, were the only drivers who could beat the 01:35.000 laptime, making sure his second place and only six hundreths behind the McLaren driver.

Dennis was third, fourth was Joel Eriksson (Motopark) while Pedro Piquet (Van Amersfoort Racing) completed the top five. The top 10 was completed the Newey, Daruvala, Gunther, Ilott and Zhou, in that order.
