Felipe Nasr was the winner of the GP2 sprint race in Barcelona. Jolyon Palmer was second and Tom Dillmann finished third.

Finally, Nasr got his first win in the GP2 Series after three years of trying. The Brazilian took the lead in the early stages of the race and pulled away from the championship Leader Palmer in a busy race in the middle of the grid.

Dillmann, who was on pole, defended his first position, followed by Haryanto and Nasr. The Brazilian tried to make a move on Dillmann for the lead, but the Frenchman defendend his place again and Palmer was getting closer. Just after a couple of laps, Nasr passed Dillmann while several drivers were out of the race. Ellinas, who started second, was tenth.

Palmer tried to pass Dillmann for second and he did it iwith an impressive move. Just afer that, he tried to catch Nasr. A couple of laps later, he was just behind the Brazilian, but with Dillmann still close.

Behind the leading places, the gaps were disseapearing and an interesting group was behind Cecotto, who was seventh. Nasr pulled away from Nasr when everybody started to manage the tyres. Cecotto’s group was rught behind Evans, who was sixth. The Venezuelan went off trying to make a move on the Kiwi, so Richelmi was right behind him but not close enough to make a move.

With five laps to go, Cecotto passed Evans, who suffered of several degradation on his tyres and lost many places. Palmer went off trying to get closer to Nasr, but rejoined the track shortly and didn’t lose his place. The last podium place would be decided in a fight between Dillmann and Pic, and Richelmi was right behind Cecotto again for sixth place.

Nasr won the race with a comfortable gap in front of Palmer. Dillmann was third with Pic close to him in fourth. Leal was fifth. Palmer is still leading the championship after finishing the four races on the podium.
