While the world of motorsports is ready for a well-deserved holiday break, Prema has already begun early preparations for 2017. Adding an extremely valuable piece to the 2017 puzzle, the Italian squad is excited to announce that Mick Schumacher will return for another season, stepping up to the FIA F.3 European Championship after an impressive 2016 run.
The 17-year-old German racer has been part of the Prema Formula 4 operation this year, producing an impressive performance that included 10 wins, 6 pole positions and 22 podium finishes. After ending as a runner-up in both the Italian and the German championship, Schumacher is now set for a brand-new challenge in one of the most hard-fought series in international competition.

The goal for him will be to build on the chemistry developed with the team in 2016 in order to become a consistent contender straight away.

Angelo Rosin – Team Principal
“We are thrilled to continue working with Mick in 2017. Not only he is a skilled driver, he is a great guy and already showed he has all what it takes to be a top all-round professional. Debuting in a challenging series like the FIA F.3 European Championship is not going to be easy, but we will be 100 percent behind Mick to help him keep impressing as he did this year.”

“F3 will be the ideal step for me to make, and I am totally fired up for the new year to start. I am also really happy about staying with Prema, because this is such a professional team and I will again be able to learn a lot. The next season will surely be challenging, but the tests we’ve been doing in the past weeks proved the F3 car is extremely fun to drive. I can’t wait for 2017 to begin!”
