Beverage giants Coca Cola has renewed its partnership which started in 2018 with McLaren Racing for the full 2019 F1 season.
Coca Cola made its debut as their main brand in the 2018 F1 season with McLaren in the US, Mexican and Brazilian Grand Prixs with the intention to continue on in the future if the agreement is reached between the respective parties.
In the winter, there were speculations of Coca Cola becoming one of the big sponsors with a fake image doing rounds of the brand’s name on the rear wing of the car. However, nothing was announced even in the lead-up to the Australian GP.
The news though has been confirmed now with McLaren announcing a fresh deal with Coca Cola for the whole of 2019 F1 season, which will see the activation involve multiple brands of the company for different beverages prepared.
It adds, ‘throughout the season, Coca-Cola will develop consumer events, activities at the points of sale, online promotions, and communication.’ The logo can be spotted on the rear of the car, just behind the driver and car’s inlet.
Zak Brown, Chief Executive Officer, McLaren Racing, said: “I’m proud that Coca-Cola, one of the most recognised consumer brands and supporters of sports fans in the world, has chosen to extend its partnership with our Formula 1 team.
“There was a positive reaction to our 2018 debut as partners on the Formula 1 track and I’m looking forward to us exploring the full potential of this partnership over the coming season.”
Ricardo Fort, Vice President, Sports & Entertainment Partnerships, Coca-Cola, added: “We are excited to extend and expand our relationship with McLaren for the 2019 racing season. Sponsoring McLaren will allow us to create unique consumer experiences around the world.”
