After the first race of the week-end, FormulaRapida.net asked Günther about his problems in both qualifying sessions. Indeed, the Prema Powerteam driver ran the first round of qualifying with his visor open. He answered during the post race press conference :
« I had a big problem of vision during qualifying 1 so I had to open my visor a bit. So it was extremely difficult for me to watch, especially in the last part of qualifying.
“P4 for today was deffinitely a good result consideering the situations. »
In Q2, after a very fast first part of the session, Günther crashed ans provoked a red flag, causing him to start 17th for race 2 and last of race 3.
« I was on a fast lap and then I hit the curb to hard and then I could not accelerate enough for the rest, I lost the control over my front and then hit the wall.
“It was obviously very bad because the pace was improving and improving and I was not on the limit of the laptimes and we could not make the most of it. »
After his third place in Race 1, Günther still leads the championship by eleven points over Cassidy, but there are not a lot of chances that he will still be the championship leader at the end of the day after race 2.
