After the numerous successes of his last season in British Formula 3, Matt Rao is ready to make the step up to FIA Formula 3 European Championship with Fortec.

Last year saw the 20 year old finishing a close second in the British Formula 3 championship, missing out by just 2 points, having taken 5 wins and 14 podiums.

The move to the FIA Formula 3 European Championship seems a logical progression which will enable Rao to further develop his skills, and allow him to continue being a strong race competitor. In this global competition, contested over 33 races and 11 locations, both Rao and Fortec aim to make a keen progression throughout the season.

“I’m very pleased to be competing for Fortec Motorsports once more in 2015? commented Rao. “After a fantastic 2014 with the team in British Formula 3, I have complete confidence that the team and I can work well together in what will be my rookie year in European Formula 3. Building on what I learnt last year, I hope to prove myself in what is arguably the most competitive junior category in the world today.”

“It’s the natural step following his great year in British F3 with the team” added Bruce Jenkins, Team Manager at Fortec. “He tested the current car in Valencia and showed his speed. It will be a steep learning curve to start with, but we’re expecting good things.”
