Jorge Lorenzo made pole position in Grand Prix of Spain. Spanish rider will start tomorrow’s race in front of Marc Màrquez and Andrea Iannone in his home test.
He did it again. Jorge Lorenzo set a pole position at home, this time being his first one in the present season. The Spanish was in front of Marc Màrquez and the championship leader, Valentino Rossi, who will start from the fifth position after being seven tenths slower than his team mate.
During the session Màrquez suffered a downfall at straight end, although without important consequences. It was not the only incident; Maverick Viñales also sufferent a runoff at the end of Q1 that set him out of the Q2 by losing the last lap opportunity. He will start from the fourteenth position tomorrow.
Andrea Iannone was third in Q2 and will start in front of Pol Espargaró, who was fourth. The Italian is the one who takes most benefit from the situation, as not just Rossi is behind him and can grab the position, but Dovizioso was eighth and that allows a good play in the championship.
Race will be tomorrow at 2 pm local time.
