Alessio Lorandi, 18-years old, from Salò, Italy, has finally announced his destination for the 2017 season and will enter the upcoming GP3 Series championship with Jenzer Motorsport. The Italian racer made an early debut with the team in late 2016 in the two final rounds of the GP3 season before impressing in post season testing at Yas Marina.

With the goal of being a constant feature among the GP3 Series frontrunners, continuing the relationship with Andreas Jenzer was a logical choice. Lorandi is moving to GP3 competition after two successful seasons in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship that included positive results and handed him a win in the world-renowned Pau Grand Prix in 2016.

Alessio Lorandi:

“Lining-up for the 2017 GP3 Series is an huge step for my career and making it with Jenzer is definitely the best choice. In the last two rounds of the 2016 season it was a perfect fit and there is great chemistry with both Andreas Jenzer and his technical staff. In postseason testing we showed that we can compete with the best names of the series. This will be a challenging season in a very competitive environment as we will run alongside the Formula 1 World Championship and the GP2 Series.”
