Niko Kari has topped the second day of testing at the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi. The Finn was the quickest driver on track, followed by Leonardo Pulcini, who topped the afternoon session, and Giuliano Alesi completes the day’s top 3.


After setting the pace yesterday, Niko Kari has returned to the top of the timesheet. The Finn improving his best lap from yesterday by 0.2s. It was another sunny day, making the conditions pretty much the same as yesterday.

Jean Daruvala was the first driver to set a competitive time, then followed by Callum Allot, Jake Hughes, Pedro Piquet, Alessio Lorandi, Pulcini, Alesi and eventually Kari took the top of the timesheet. The morning session saw one red flag, caused by Juan Manuel Correa stopping on the main straight. After this, teams seemed to concentrate more on the long runs and Kari finished on top.

In the afternoon session we saw Kari taking the top again early in the session, but Ryan Tveter was not too far. Tveter improved and took the top spot, before the 2nd red flag of the day was waved. Everyone returned to the pits, while Jake Hughes’ car was removed from the final corner. When the track went back to green, Teeter went and improved his lap time, but soon Ilott and Pulcini would get to the top, battling over the top spot. Pulcini eventually taking the lead by 0.2s and finishing the session at the top of the timesheet.

With the combined times of the sessions, we found Niko Kari on top again, followed by Leonardo Pulcini and Giuliano AlesiPedro Piquet takes fourth, just 0.001s behind AlesiCallum Ilott ends the session in 5th, followed by Alessio LorandiNikita Mazepin, Jehan Daruvala and David Beckmann.
