The today’s race winner, Esteban Ocon has been interview by FORMULARAPIDA.NET after his first ever race in Barcelona since 2013.

FormulaRapida.net today had the opportunity to interview the FIA Formula 3 European champion, Esteban Ocon, after his first ever GP3 Series win.

“Este” comment to us what happen with his change from Lotus to Mercedes young program:

Mercedes at the end of the year they went interested on me. Thanks to Lotus for everything and also for Gravity for everything they did for me, I’m still under contract with Gravity but they let me go to “a great future”, thanks to Mercedes for trusting me I have to say. On the winter they went interested, we spoke, we spoke, we spoke and we arrive at something really good from then.”

The true is that on GP2 Paddock, a lot of people knew that Ocon was going to race in the Dams field but this hasn’t happen. Anyway he’s happy to be in GP3 with ART.

It’s good to be in GP3, I’m in a really good team, a really strong team. If I find a car with a good team behind me and then I can win races, it’s not a problem.”

In GP3 the key is get as much points as you can in a weekend race, so the consistency is the key.

It’s important just to stay all the time top5 and just got points, then if you can win you have to win, if you can’t you have to take points like in the second race, you really have to stay on track and be careful and take as much points as we can.

And we also had a funny moment with the 18-years-old men, we comment to him that compared to last year performance, he improved a lot in the starts:

(laught)“It’s not the best start ever but last year you know, I was a rookie, I never really started good, I learnt a lot last year and the team gave me refund a good solution to make good starts. I mean It’s only one start, let’s see the others now.
