Marc Márquez led a Spanish top 3 on qualifying and got pole position ahead of Viñales and Lorenzo, who were 6 tenths behind the Catalan rider.

Q1

All of the strongest riders had already made it through Q2, so the main candidates in this Q1 were Danilo Petrucci, Héctor Barberá and Yonny Hernández, as well as both Aprilia. It was finally Petrucci and Bradl who managed to go through. Therefore, the grid will be closed by Barberá, Bautista, Hernández, Laverty, Pirro, Rabat, Hayden, Baz and Lowes.

Q2

After having an 8 tenths advantage in FP4, Márquez started off as the favorite for pole. He proved that since lap 1 by setting a time 7 tenths ahead of Crutchlow, followed by Lorenzo and Rossi. His teammate Pedrosa was 5th one second off his time.

Márquez didn’t need to improve his time in order to get pole. Viñales climbed up to 2nd right ahead of Lorenzo. Dovizioso, Crutchlow and Rossi will be in the second row while Pedrosa, who fell when he was setting a very similar time to Marquez’s, will start on 7th. Espargaró, Petrucci, Redding, Espargaró and Bradl completed the top 10.
