Andrea Iannone has led the third free practice session, but on the overall times, it’s been Maverick Viñales the one who has led the times. Also, the accumulated times have decides which riders will have to take part in Q1. The biggest surprise of the day has been that Jorge Lorenzo will need to participate in Q1.

On the first stages of the session, any driver could barely improve their times, and the main focus was doing more laps. During the first minutes, Jonas Folger suffered a crash at turn 2, which is being a real problem for riders since GP started. A minute later there was another incident, as the fairing of Danilo Petrucci‘s Ducati released from the bike.

The thrill started when there were 10 minutes left and riders started to fight for a place in Q2, Jorge Lorenzo was on the limit of getting dropped to Q2, and he completed a lap which “saved him”, but it lasted short, as Andrea Iannone completed his lap behind Lorenzo, and thanks to the splitstream of the Ducati rider, he got promoted to second place overall. Cal Crutchlow and Scott Redding had crashes during the last minutes of the session.

In the end, Iannone took the best time of the session, while Viñales was the quickest of all sessions. Apart from them, Marc Márquez, Johann Zarco, Andrea Dovizioso, Redding, Dani Pedrosa, Folger, Crutchlow and Valentino Rossi are the riders that have avoided to take part in Q1.

FP4 in MotoGP will be held tomorrow at 19:55 local, while qualifying will start at 21:00. The race is due to begin on Sunday at 21:00 local time.
