Harrison Newey will race his first season in the FIA Formula 3 European championship with the Dutch squad Van Amersfoort Racing, the one he already raced with in ADAC F4.

Harrison had his first full season in single seaters in 2015, racing in the BRDC F4 and in the ADAC F4, giving priority to the British championship. He finished runner-up behind Will Palmer in BRDC and 16th of ADAC F4 with Van Amersfoort Racing alongside Joey Mawson and Mick Schumacher.

Team owner Frits Van Amersfoort states:

It is great news that Harrison is racing with us in F3 this season. Of course we know him from F4 last season and we enjoyed working with him greatly. He is talented, capable and dedicated; we are thrilled to have him with us.

The Dutch boss also praises Adrian Newey’s son work ethic and surprising maturity for a 17 year old driver.

Harrison Newey comments:

I know Frits and the team well now after competing with them in Germany and also doing my first F3 tests. I am hugely motivated to race in one of the world’s most competitive single-seater series.”

Harrison Newey will race alongside another rookie from Formula 4 in the name of Pedro Piquet and Callum Ilott who will race his second season in European Formula 3.
