Lewis Hamilton went to the BTCC race at Donington Park in disguise where his brother Nicolas registered his best result in Race 2.

His last Sunday before the F1 circus kicks-off again this weekend in Azerbaijan, Mercedes driver Hamilton paid a visit to Donington Park for the British Touring Car Championship’s (BTCC) first round in 2023 to support is younger brother, Nicolas.

The Brit started his fifth season in BTCC, this time with Go-Fix with Autoaid Breakdown (Tony Gilham Racing a.k.a Team HARD) team, driving the Cupra Leon. Hamilton seemingly turned out to be a lucky charm for Nicolas especially in Race 2.

Entering as an independent entrant, Nicolas qualified 25th and finished 21st in Race 1 and even in Race 3. It was Race 2 where he registered his career best and only his second points result in sixth after 21 laps of racing on a wet track.

Hamilton was trackside in a disguise of sorts where he wore a big jacket and covered his face mostly which worked for him as seemingly no one identified him being in the grass stands. The world champion took to social media to reveal his little trip.

“I haven’t been to Donington in a long time,” wrote Hamilton. “I was so excited to watch and support my brother today as a normal spectator, felt really special. I’m so proud of you bro, 6th place today was such a special result and you truly deserve it. Keep pushing Nicolas,” he summed, as dad Anthony was also in attendance.
