The British driver Lewis Hamilton has firmly rejected claims made by some Italian media that he would be pressuring Ferrari to replace key members of their pit crew.
The newspaper Corriere della Sera did not specify which workers would be affected by these alleged changes, but mentioned the frustration of the seven-time world champion regarding the management of recent races. At the Gronna in the Netherlands, Hamilton expressed his discontent over the radio when he felt that his teammate, Charles Leclerc, was not letting him pass to secure a podium spot.
Along with this, during the race in Monza, he showed his displeasure over a collision with Leclerc in the first lap, pointing out that it was the team’s director, Fred Vasseur, who should manage such situations. Despite these incidents, Hamilton has wanted to clarify that the rumors about his relationship with Vasseur and demands for personnel changes are completely unfounded.
In a social media post, Hamilton stated: ‘I have seen some of the stories going around and I want to clarify it here. I have never asked for anyone on my team to be replaced.’ Additionally, he emphasized his team’s dedication, stating that they work hard every day to improve.
This would not be the first year Hamilton made adjustments to his team, following a difficult 2025 season where he did not achieve any podium finishes, ending sixth in the championship. For this reason, he appointed a new race engineer, with Carlo Santi and Cedric Grosjean replacing Riccardo Adami, thus enabling a notable improvement in the results of his current season.
Hamilton secured his first victory with Ferrari in Barcelona in June, after implementing a three-stop strategy. He currently sits in third place in the championship, despite being 101 points behind the leader, Kimi Antonelli, from Mercedes.
