Giovinazzi free leads in Spielberg
Antonio Giovinazzi has dominated both free practice sessions of the FIA European Formula 3 in the Austrian Red Bull Ring circuit. Jake Dennis finished second and third Esteban Ocon.
As usual the two 40-minute sessions were done with a break of 5 minutes. The drivers had time to know the Austrian Red Bull Ring circuit, which have hosted the pre-season testing.
FP1
During the first the Carlins of Antonio Giovinazzi and Jake Dennis were the fastest with Esteban Ocon in third place just 27 thousandths behind Giovinazzi and 3 from Dennis. The rivalry between the two teams is so great that they have occupied the first 8 positions of the session and with only 5 tenths of distance between them.
In ninth place we find the third placed in the championship, Lucas Auer who has been right ahead of his teammate, Felix Rosenqvist in tenth place.
Max Verstappen has finished outside the top 10 finishing in 8/10 of the first to eleventh place, bad start for the second placed in the championship who is hunting for the lead in the drivers championship together with Esteban Ocon.
FP2
The penultimate session had very similar results with Giovinazzi leader, followed by Ocon, Dennis and Jordan King. Instead Max Verstappen has shown a marked improvement finishing in fifth place. Lucas Auer was tenth.
