On the first round, the first group has been very boring. Drivers who have not passed to next round: Takuma Sato, EJ Viso, Josef Newgarden, James Jakes, James Davison and Simona de Silvestro.
The second group has been much faster, as it was expected. The three Chip Ganassi cars have set stratospheric times, all drivers of top 5 have done a 1:17, Tristan Vautier and Tony Kanaan would have set the second best time in group 1, however, they have been eliminated, the other eliminated drivers in this group have been JR Hildebrand, Sebastian Saavedra, Ryan Briscoe, Ed Carpenter and Lucas Luhr (making his debut on IndyCar).
Round 2 has been really interesting, drivers of Chip Ganassi were the main favorites to pass, also Penske’s drivers and Ryan Hunter-Reay, and finally they have not disappointed, passing to fast six. Will Power has done the fastest time, ahead of all drivers of Chip Ganassi. The Australian wanted his fourth consecutive pole position on this track… Justin Wilson, Graham Rahal, James Hinchcliffe, Simon Pagenaud, Marco Andretti and Sebastien Bourdais have not been able to pass to the final round.
The final round was expected to be very tight. Dario Franchitti started as favorite, because he had a new set of tires, and finally he has got another pole position for the Chip Ganassi, ahead of his mate Scott Dixon. Will Power has completed the top three, Ryan Hunter-Reay has been fourth, Helio Castroneves fifth and Charlie Kimball sixth.
