The organisers of French GP are looking at rotation system to bring back Paul Ricardo on F1 calendar amid news of 2023 drop.

F1 boss Stefano Domenicali seemingly confirmed to French media that French GP will not feature on the 2023 calendar on Wednesday. A day later, the organisers of the grand prix concurred with the statements of the Italian with a positive outlook.

While seemingly affirming Domenicali’s statement, the statement focussed on the return aspect in a rotation system which has been discussed multiple times amid rising cost and increasing number of venues eyeing a spot on the F1 calendar.

The races which is yet to have a valid contract for 2023 are Belgium and Monaco with whom Paul Ricard could rotate. “The Formula 1 French Grand Prix takes note of recent statements made by Stefano Domenicali, president of Formula 1, regarding its absence from the calendar for the 2023 season,” the statement from French GP stated.

“After the great success of its 2022 edition, the French GP, Formula 1 and all the stakeholders of the grand prix continue to work together on the presence of this event in the calendar in the years to come, and in particular on a rotation system. The Formula 1 French Grand Prix would like to thank its clients, all the administrators of its GP, the Circuit Paul Ricard and all its partners, for their unfailing support.”
