Since the FIA Formula 3 European Championship was established in its current form in 2013, Fortec Motorsports was a constant on the series’ grid. In their first year the team around team boss Richard Dutton finished fourth in the team championship and – courtesy of Brazilian Luis Felipe Derani – eighth in the drivers’ championship. And in following seasons, the Fortec drivers also often battled it out at the front end of the field.

At the beginning of the current season, Fortec initially opted out of contesting the FIA Formula 3 European Championship – but now they are working on making their comeback.

Having already conducted several private tests they are ready for a first outing with the other FIA Formula 3 European Championship teams. During the test days at Hockenheimring, the Fortec single-seaters will be driven by Russia’s young gun Vasily Romanov and Austrian talent Ferdinand Habsburg.

Richard Dutton looks ahead to the appearance of his team in the official tests at Hockenheim in a confident mood. He said: “Fortec are delighted to return for the official FIA F3 test at Hockenheim, we have carried out an extensive test programme with several drivers in preparation for a return to the championship towards the end of the year”.

Testing at Hockenheim will get underway on Wednesday, 29th of June at 09:30 o’clock (CEST). Live timing to not only follow the Fortec drivers, but all testing action on-site, will be available on the official F3 website: http://www.fiaf3europe.com/live/.
