FIA Formula E Championship announced South Korean artist BTS as its Global Ambassador for climate change awareness.

In an interesting association, Formula E named South Korean artist, BTS, as its Global Ambassador to highlight on important social issues like air pollution. The musicians from South Korea are the first from the region to top the Billboard Hot 1 chart.

Not only they are a massive name in Asia but they are inching towards being world-famous with huge fan following. With the partnership, Formula E and BTS hope to inspire the next generation to embrace clean energy and take up electric vehicles.

Formula E is hoping to tap in the million of followers BTS has to reach out to the masses. The deal comes at a time when the FIA-backed electric single-seater series is heading to Seoul for the first-ever South Korean ePrix on May 3 in 2020.

The series also announced that the race will be broadcasted on public broadcaster, KBS. The new 2.8km and 19-turn circuit will be around the city’s Olympic Park with seven of the 19 corners inside the Jamsil Sports Complex and the former Olympic stadium.

While it is not clear at this stage but BTS could feature during the inaugural Seoul ePrix in May, which in turn could benefit the championship with larger fan turnout. At the same time, it will help in passing on the larger message of greener environment.
