Two teams have impressed particularly, over the 2013 season: Prema Powerteam and kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport.

Their spearheads, Raffaele Marciello (Prema Powerteam) and Felix Rosenqvist (kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport), took their thrilling battle for the European Championship title down to the season finale at the Hockenheimring circuit.

Only there, the Italian by Ferrari Driver Academy could prevail in the fight for the trophy.

In addition to Marciello, several other competitive drivers also represented the Prema colours.

In the end, Lynn won this battle with three race wins and the Austrian (one race win) had to settle for finishing fourth.

Thanks to podiums secured by their drivers, the three British teams, Carlin, Fortec Motorsports and ThreeBond with T-Sport, can look back on a successful FIA Formula 3 European Championship season with podiums secured by their drivers.

Even with a lot of misfortunes, and some young mistakes, they scored a great 2013 season.

In the end, Tincknell finished fifth in the championship.

His team-mate Jordan King, who advanced to the FIA Formula 3 European Championship as Formula Renault NEC Vice-Champion, was particularly delighted with having finished second at Zandvoort and third at the Red Bull Ring.

Nicholas Latifi and Jann Mardenborough convinced with a steep learning curve and secured several top-10 positions, in the 30-driver field.

Red Bull junior Daniil Kvyat, who already has secured a race seat with Toro Rosso team for the 2014 Formula 1 season, joined the FIA Formula 3 European Championship action only on the third race weekend. The young Russian convinced: he won a race on the Zandvoort weekend and another six podiums.

Meanwhile, Luis Felipe Derani proved to be the Fortec Motorsports spearhead: thanks to his impressive second half of the season, the Brazilian finished to eighth position in the championship.

For his team-mate Félix Serrallés, the season didn’t run that satisfying.

Josh Hill, the son of Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill, surprisingly retired from motor-racing for good during the season.

Alexander Sims took over the vacant cockpit of William Buller to secure two podiums on his first race weekend right away.

The season of his team-mate Richard ‘Spike’ Goddard was rather mediocre as he failed to score points. In the team ranking, the Britons who were the only ones to race with a ThreeBond Nissan engine, finished fifth.

TOP

Raffaele Marciello : An unforgettable season. Something remarkable to the history. An impressive progress since last season. Greater concentration to reduce mistakes during the races, a style driving very clean and fast, always on the top of the standings. The Ferrari Driver Academy’s driver scored a perfect season. Relentless. Vote: 10

Feliz Rosenqvist : An unconvincing start of the season punished a season that could be a winner for him. Always fast in every circuit, and always on the top of the start grid. Only the perfect season of Marciello has prevented him for winning the title. Second place with honor.Vote: 9

Alex Lynn : Suffers the heavy presence of his teammate. Alex is constant throughout the entire season with good performances and results, that take him to the lowest rung of the podium. He is found fighting with the first, also thanks to a perfect Prema car. Clear minded. Vote: 8

Lucas Auer : Thanks to a strong Prema, he grabs a very good final fourth place. The reliability of the car, and his perseverance to drive, enable him to bring home as many points as to assure him a place among the top five at the end of the season. FLOP
