The FIA shares track limits details for F1 British GP along with DRS zones, changes to the circuit, stewards names and more.

The track limits for F1 British GP remains to be the white lines as per FIA Race Directors’ note released ahead of the Silverstone race. Post the happenings in Austria, everyone will be happy to be at a circuit with no problems for track limits lap deletion.

The first DRS zone’s detection point is 25m before Turn 3, with the activation at 30m after Turn 5. The second zone’s detection point is at Turn 11 and activation at Turn 14. The FIA also listed a number of changes to the circuit, which goes:

  • The straight-ahead gravel part in the run-off in Turn 1 has been replaced with a 40x40m asphalt section.
  • Between Turn 5 and Turn 6 on LHS new concrete walls with FIA fence have been installed.
  • At Turn 6 the tyre barriers have been replaced with new tyres including new conveyor belt.
  • At Turn 7 on LHS the gravel trap has been reduced by 5m of the track edge.
  • At Turn 9 the tyre barriers have been replaced with new tyres including new conveyor belt.
  • Between Turn 13 and Turn 14 on LHS barriers realigned for approx. 260m length.
  • New asphalt on LHS at exit Turn 14 connecting to Hangar Straight.
  • The gravel trap at Turn 15 has been extended by 8m over a length of approx. 120m.
  • At Turn 16 the combination kerb on LHS has been reduced by 5m.

In terms of the FIA stewards, Tim Mayer will lead the panel at F1 British GP and will be aided by Felix Holter, Derek Warwick and Nicky Moffitt. The weekend will also see garage set-up for APX GP in between the garages of Mercedes and Ferrari for the movie shoot.
