Felix Rosenqvist has taken pole position for the first Rome ePrix of FIA Formula E history. Swede driver set a fantastic lap during Super Pole.

Mahindra Racing driver Felix Rosenqvist has taken the pole position for round 7 of Formula E 2017/2018 championsip in Rome, setting a lap time of 1:36.311.

He set a perfect lap time, and thanks to André Lotterer (Techetaah) and Sébastien Buemi (Renault e.Dams) mistakes, he took an unexpected pole position ahead of Sam Bird (DS Virgin) and Mitch Evans (Panasonic Jaguar Racing).

Reigning champion, Lucas di Grassi (Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler) finished in sixth place, ahead of Oliver Turvey (NIO) and championship leader Jean-Eric Vergne (Techeetah).

The session also had some crashes despite any red flag appereance. Jose Maria “Pechito” López (Dragon) when he was in pit-lane line was hit by Andretti Autosport car of Antonio Felix da Costa, both drivers couldn’t set a lap.

Edoardo Mortara (Venturi) crashed as well, damaging rear right suspension. Local hero Luca Filippi (NIO) did not cross the finish line before the checker flag and wasn’t able to set a fast lap.
