Hitech GP’s Luca Ghiotto was quickest in FIA Formula 2 (F2) Championship category on final day of Bahrain test, with Campos Racing’s Alexander Peroni leading FIA Formula 3 (F3) Championship class.

The three-day pre-season test ended on Tuesday at Bahrain International Circuit as Ghiotto led the F2 pack, while Peroni was quickest of all in F3. The Hitech GP driver set a 1m41.252s lap with MP Motorsport’s Felipe Drugovich in second and best rookie.

Campos Racing’s Jack Aitken was third with Prema’s Mick Schumacher fourth ahead of MP Motorsport’s Nobuharu Matsushita. The other Hitech GP car of Nikita Mazepin was sixth with Prema’s Robert Shwartzman seventh from Charouz Racing System’s Louis Deletraz.

The Top 10 was rounded out by DAMS’ Sean Gelael and UNI-Virtuosi Racing’s Callum Ilott as Day 1 pace-setter and Charouz’s Pedro Piquet was 11th overall. The Day 2 fastest driver, Carlin’s Jehan Daruvala was 16th on the day which saw two red flags.

Trident’s Roy Nissany and Marino Sato were the culprit for the stoppages in F2. Position 11-22: Piquet, Dan Ticktum, Guilherme Samia, Guanyu Zhou, Roy Nissany, Daruvala, Guiliano Alesi, Yuki Tusnoda, Artem Markelov, Marino Stao, Sergey Sirotkin, Marcus Armstrong.

F3:

Like mentioned before, Campos’ Peroni was fastest with a 1m46.173s lap as the Australian had a sound three days at Bahrain after returning from injury. He led HWA Racelab duo Jake Hughes and Jack Doohan in the Top 3 of the final day of running.

Prema’s Logan Sargeant slotted in fourth from MP Motorsport’s Richard Verschoor as morning session pace-setter Charouz Racing System’s Niko Kari was sixth from Day 2 quickest driver Hitech GP’s Liam Lawson.

The Top 10 was rounded out by ART’s Sebastian Fernandez in eighth, Prema’s Frederik Vesti ninth and ART’s Alexander Smolyar 10th. The F3 test’s final day saw just the lone red flag for Jenzer Motorsport’s Calam Williams.
