F1 is constantly changing digitally. It will be F1 itself who will now launch their own television channel that will be called F1tv. It is a subscription channel, which will offer exclusively the entire 2018 championship.

For a price that will range between 8 and 12 dollars, subscribers will be able to enjoy all sessions of the race weekends, in addition to the press conferences, and a multi-camera service for each driver. F1tv wants its consumer to be able to customize everything he wants in the retransmissions of F1 events. In addition, the service also offers the races of the main competitions affiliated to F1 like the F2, the GP3 or the Porsche Supercup, among others.

At the moment, F1 TV will be available in four languages: English, French, Spanish and German. Unfortunately, this channel will not be available in Spain. Countries like Germany, France, USA, will receive the service as well as United Statets, Mexico, Belgium, Austria, Hungary and many others from Latin America. The channel can be seen through computers, as well as mobile phone apps and TV apps. F1 will supply its service gradually to Amazon, Apple and Android.

They will also launch F1tv Access. A mode, also of payment but at a more affordable price, that will offer the best moments of all the sessions, but you will not be able to see the events live. You can also access live times and classifications and access to archive video content from the amazing historic archive owned by Formula 1. This service will be available almost everywhere in the world and will complement the television channel.

This is what Frank Arthofer,  Director of Digital and New Business of Formula 1 said: “With the launch of F1 TV, we are beginning on the journey to build a cornerstone of our digital transformation. F1 TV subscription products are clearly and centrally aimed at our hardest core fans, and we are firm believers that while we are bringing a new audience to the sport, we must always remain focused on delivering products and experiences that serve the most avid F1 fans. Our objective with F1 TV is simple: provide these fans with the best available service to watch live Grands Prix and provide them with the best sports OTT customer experience in the world. Our team and our partners are singularly focused on delivering on that vision: not just for launch but over the long-term. Live streaming video is an exciting space changing almost daily.”
