Liberty Media undertook a successful launch event for the 2019 F1 season ahead of the Australian GP on Wednesday with all the drivers and team principals on stage.

The first-ever gathering of all the 20 F1 drivers along with the 10 team principals was promoted hugely with the organisers opting to stage the event on Wednesday of the grand prix weekend at Federation Square in Melbourne.

The event was greeted with a huge response from the fans as they gathered in big numbers to see their heroes from close quarters – something that all are unable to do during a grand prix weekend always.

The 20 drivers and the team principals made their way to the venue on a boat marked with the F1 logo through the Yarra river. They were greeted by the F1 grid kids, each carrying one team’s flag as the drivers and team principals then headed to the stage one by one.

On-stage were grand prix winner and endurance champion Mark Webber along with Jessica Yates as presenters, while F1’s known faces Will Buxton and Rosanna Tennant interviewed the F1 drivers as they got down from the boat.

The teams were called in a descending order starting from Williams and ending with Mercedes. Each team were on-stage for about two to three minutes, at the end of which all the 20 drivers gathered on stage once again for a group selfie.
