Host of F1 drivers and juniors along with few others have come together to raise money to support the World Health Organisation in the fight against COVID-19.

Selected F1 drivers made an announced on Friday evening about the #RACEFORTHEWORLD initiative, where they are to race against each other to raise money to support WHO in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

The F1 drivers already play the F1 2019 game on mostly everyday, where some even broadcast it in their Twitch channels. They are now going a step ahead and join in to gather support financially by way of donations, mixing social work with entertainment.

The first race takes place on April 11 at 18:00 GMT with the second on April 14 and the final one on April 17 – all at the same time. They will play the 2019 F1 game, which will involve a short practice, followed by qualifying and the main race.

The initial driver list released jointly by them has F1 drivers like Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), George Russell & Nicholas Latifi (Williams), Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo Racing), Lando Norris (McLaren) and Alexander Albon (Red Bull Racing).

Among F1 juniors and youngsters, they have Pietro Fittipaldi & Louis Deletraz (Haas), Arthur Leclerc, Callum Ilott & Giuliano Alesi (Ferrari), Christian Lundgaard (Renault), Sean Gelael (F2), Nick Cassidy (Super Formula) and Antonio Fuoco.

The rest of the field includes Antonio Felix da Costa (Formula E), Luca Salvadori (bike racer), Luca Albon (Albon’s younger brother) and Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid’s goalie). More may join and leave but this is the list for not.
