Rookie Ralf Aaron won his first race in FIA Formula 3 European Championship at Hungaroring, for Race 1 of 3. The Estonian leads a podium of rookies with Kari second, and Eriksson third.

Starting from third place, Ralf Aron managed to overtake the pole sitter Maximilian Günther (Prema Powerteam) for second place at the start. The Prema driver fight with Russell for the leadership of the race for a while, until they take the advantage of a mistake by the Briton to take the lead until the end. Russell had to retire due to tyres issues, the same for Prema driver, Nick Cassidy.

Motopark drivers also showed that they had a great package to fight with the Prema’s. Niko Kari and Joel Eriksson drove all time in fifth and sixth, and when Russell and Prema’s of Gunther and Stroll had issues with the tyres, they overtake them to complete a 100% rookie podium.

Lance Stroll and Maximilian Günther follow them finishing in fourth and fifth position. As they follow Alessio Lorandi (Carlin), Sérgio Sette Camara (Motopark), Guanyu Zhou (Motopark), Ben Barnicoat (Hitech GP) and Mikkel Jensen (kftzeile24 Mücke Motorsport).

Despite the abandon, Nick Cassidy keeps the championship lead by 7 points over Stroll. Günther is third nine point behind as rookie, Joel Erkisson is between the Prema’s on fourth, only 14 points between the Swede and the kiwi.
