It was one of the best moments of the last season, the hot rivalry between Sergio Pérez and Esteban Ocon on the track that finished on establishing team orders on the pink team. On Monday before starting testing, the new car will be revealed and they will try to defend the fourth place they reached last year, the VJM11.
But before, the drivers had to leave Christmas holidays to prepare the new season and recover a good fisic shape. “It has been an amazing winter. I ate well and I improved at all the levels, including my reactions. I hate the trainign part and i love competition”, explains the french driver, Esteban Ocon, for the british brodcast Sky Sports.
The truth is that one of the most important unknowns inside the tea mis to know how is the relationship between the two drivers: “We made a reset and we have been working together, we did our seat yesterday and everything is fine. We worked well at the end of last season, so there no worries to keep like this in the future”, explains the Mercedes Young driver.
But, without doubts, the main discussion theme from this preseason it’s the halo, increasing with the 8 presentations of the new cars: “I’m not used to it already and we will have to, at the end is good for our safety. In DTM i had windscreen in front and it wasn’t a problema at all.”
Ocon talked also the rumours of the future of the championship. “It’s good that people tolks about me because it demonstrates that there is an interest, but I’m completely dedicated to Force India, i let Mercedes because they know what’s the best for me”, says Force India french driver who is focused on his duties to complete a good year, without thinking on next seasons.
