Yuki Tsunoda has caught the attention of the Racing Bulls team and the entire paddock after his surprising performance at the Dutch Grand Prix. Despite finishing in 11th place, the Japanese driver believes he has done a good job to improve his chances of returning to Formula 1 in 2027.
Last week, Tsunoda received an unexpected call while enjoying a holiday in Greece, at which point he learned of Isack Hadjar’s injury and that he could replace him. Looking ahead, Tsunoda has made it clear that his main goal is to return to Formula 1. ‘I know what I can do and I believe I have demonstrated my potential. With just one race, I am close to points, so my manager and the teams have to decide if they want me or not, but they should do it,’ he concluded with a humorous tone.
After this performance, the expectations for his full return are more alive than ever, although Tsunoda does not rule out the possibility of exploring options in IndyCar if no doors open in Formula 1. The driver said goodbye with a funny call-out: ‘Call me, please!’.
