Yelloly fastest on day 1

The Brit, driver for Status GP, set the fastest time on the first day of GP3 pre-season testing in the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit.

During the morning session, Nick Yelloly got the fastest time in a session with very few incidents. There was just one red flag caused by Richie Stanaway (Status GP) on the third corner after spinning.

In the afternoon there were two more red flags caused by Nelson Mason (Hilmer) and Denis Nagulin (Trident). Mason spun again and ended the session with another red flag.

Yelloly was fastest overall thanks to his morning time, followed by Eriksson (Koiranen GP), Krichhöfer (ART) and Lynn (Carlin), who set the fastest time of the afternoon.

Some teams, as Koiranen GP and Arden International, have tried to prepare the set up of their cars for both quaky and race. Same thing happens in Carlin and Marussia, where their drivers have not been able to find a good enough race pace.

Nick Yelloly has had a good pace in the morning testing qualy and in the afternoon doing race simulation. He’s a driver to be taken into account in the fight for the title.
