Williams Racing has retained the services of Logan Sargeant for 2024 season to complete the F1 grid.
While there were speculation about Sargeant losing his F1 seat, there were also signs that the American will be retained especially with him testing with Alexander Albon in Abu Dhabi. The messages from team boss James Vowles also indicated of retention.
It took time to confirm but Williams has eventually done so for the 2024 F1 season with Sagreant to remain with the Grove-based outfit alongside Albon. His drive means that the grid seen in 2023 Abu Dhabi GP will be same in 2024 Bahrain GP.
It wasn’t easy for Sargeant in his rookie F1 season but he salvaged a points result and some performances worthy of points. He will have to take the step up in 2024 which will be make or break season and the first task will be to match or beat Albon.
“I am pleased to continue our journey with Logan into the 2024 season,” said Vowles. “Logan has demonstrated immense skill whilst under the pressure of the world stage, making him a perfect fit for our team. We have great confidence in his abilities and believe that together we can achieve even greater success in the upcoming season.”
At the same time, Sargeant added: “I am thrilled to be continuing with Williams Racing for the 2024 season. It has been an incredible journey with the team so far, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue developing as a driver within such a talented and dedicated group. We have exciting plans for the future, and I can’t wait to contribute to the team’s success in the coming year.”
