VR46 potential MotoGP rider line-up spilled by Tardozzi

VR46, Ducati, Franco Morbidelli, Fabio di Giannantonio

The potential MotoGP line-up of VR46 for the 2025 season was spilled by Ducati chief Davide Tardozzi during the British GP weekend.

It’s been a busy day for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 team, with it announced earlier on Friday that they would become the official Ducati factory-supported team from 2025. As a result of the new and improved deal, they will receive one 2025 factory-spec Ducati bike, with the other being this season’s GP24.

This development comes as great news for Valentino Rossi’s charges, with the most up-to-date machinery allowing them to compete alongside official factory team riders Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez in 2025. However, the big question remains: who will receive the latest spec bike, and who will be on the older bike in the VR46 box? Well, it seems that Davide Tardozzi may have let the cat out of the bag!

The Ducati Team Manager spoke to Canal+ during FP1 at the British GP, and claimed that the GP25 will be for current rider Fabio Di Giannantonio and the GP24 for Franco Morbidelli, though neither rider has publicly announced where they will ride in 2025. “We are very happy with this agreement. VR46 has a lot of good things, especially for young people. We believe they can help us in the future to bring young talents to our team.

“There will be one factory bike for Di Giannantonio and a GP24 for Morbidelli.” As mentioned, neither Morbidelli nor Di Giannantonio have publicly decided on their respective futures, while equally, Pertamina Enduro VR46 have not officially said who will don their leathers from the 2025 campaign onwards. This revelation from Tardozzi may be the biggest hint yet as to how the remaining pieces of the rider market puzzle will fall into place.
