Vivacqua wins without mistakes in Alps for the first time

Ph Roberto Piccinini

Thiago Vivacqua won the first race of the weekend in the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps in Monza. It’s the first win for the Brazilian who has finished ahead of Ferrer and Romanov, who was in pole.

In the start, Danlyo Pronenko hit Matevos Isaakyan and made him spin, and also forcing Jack Aitken to run wide.

Vivacqua was in 2nd place, but was able to gain time to Romanov and ended up overtaking him, as Ferrer would do later on.

Behind there was an interesting fight between the Koiranen GP drivers, Hughes and Reiner. Reiner finished 4th, but Hughes had to retire. Bulatov was 5th followed by Daruvala. Both have benefited from Hughes’ retirement and Pronenko’s mistake in the first chicane.

Jack Aitken is still on top of the championship after a great race today. After the incident in the start, he overtook Cazzaniga, Fisher, Hamprecht and Habsburg.
