The officials of the MotoGP World Championship visited the Oscar and Juan Galvez Autodrome in Buenos Aires on Monday to inspect the remodeling works being carried out in anticipation of the competition’s return to Argentina in 2027. This visit comes after the recent Brazilian Grand Prix held in Goiânia.

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of the MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group, and the sporting director, Carlos Ezpeleta, were accompanied by Juan Pablo Fasanella, president of AUSA, and Orlando Terranova, president of the OSD development group, among other authorities.

The works at the Autodrome have begun with the demolition of the garage area built for the return of Formula 1 to Argentina in 1995. Currently, the focus is on the structural preparation of the circuit, including demolition tasks, earthworks, and the placement of new foundations.

The new paddock area is being prepared to host the new facilities, while excavations for the new buildings within the circuit are underway. The works also include a restructuring of the layout to meet the international standards required for MotoGP, including the resurfacing of the asphalt and the removal of obsolete structures.

The new circuit, which will have a length of 4.3 km with an average width of 14 meters and 14 turns, will allow riders to reach speeds exceeding 300 km/h during the race. Its inauguration is scheduled for early 2027, marking the return of MotoGP to Argentina after a 24-year absence.

The project officials assure that the works are progressing at a good pace and following the established deadlines, aimed at completing them within a year from the start in January of this year.
