Maverick Vinales has compared his current frustrations with his contract with KTM to the problems he experienced during his time with Yamaha. The Spanish rider explained that MotoGP teams have exerted constant pressure on him, pushing him to his limits.

With a career that boasts ten victories, Vinales has not hidden his irritation with how KTM has managed his contractual situation. Recently, he signed a contract extension until 2027, but shortly after received the news that the deal had been canceled. This situation has made him recall the difficult moments he experienced in 2021 with Yamaha, when he was fired mid-season due to a controversial incident.

After a training session at Sachsenring, Vinales stated that the way decisions are made within teams significantly influences his confidence. “Teams can make me feel valued for the project. If they sidelined me, for me the interest disappears,” he asserted.

Currently, KTM has emphasized that they want to wait for Vinales’ recovery to assess his true performance level. Pit Beirer, head of motorsport for the brand, indicated that negotiations only stopped when it became known that the available spot would be for the satellite team and not for the factory team.

Despite the uncertainty about his future, Vinales has expressed the desire to regain his physical form and perform well in the second half of the season, following the summer break. “I want to focus on my improvement and maintain a positive attitude to keep fighting,” he concluded.
