The drivers of the FIA F3 European Championchips launched for a race of 16 laps tours on wet track. The race was interrupted many times by the safety car. Because of little of visibility and the wet track, many drivers made errors.

Giovinazzi showed himself faster than planned, he take the lead in the second sector of the first lap.

The first safety car was caused after Fittipaldi’s out. Giovinazzi had managed to widen a gap with Rosenqvist, but this first interruption ruined the advance of the Italian driver. After 3 lap, the safety car was off and the race took back, but for some lap only. The second safety car was provoked after collision between Beer and Calderon on the track.
In the restart, Rosenqvist tried an overtaking on Giovinazzi but he did not succeed in finding the opening.

Tveter was out at the 11th lap after an breaking suspension after an collision with another driver.
The third and last safety car entered on track 2 minutes before the end of the race and stayed till the end of the race there.

Giovinazzi signs his first victory in F3 in front of Felix Rosenqvist and Charles Leclerc. Dennis fails in the door of the podium in front of Gunther and Stroll.

QUOTES

Antonio Giovinazzi (Jagonya Ayam with Carlin):

“In such wet conditions, the race was anything but easy. Initially, I tried to overtake Felix as soon as I could, because you simply have a better view in the rain when you are in the lead. The first two safety car interventions didn’t really help me and Felix put me more and more under pressure as the race went on. I managed to bring victory home and I am happy.”

Felix Rosenqvist (Prema Powerteam):

“As far as the result is concerned, I am somewhat disappointed, because when you start from pole position, you want to win. On the other hand, I did score valuable points by finishing second. I have to admit that Antonio made a good attack on me on the opening lap. After that, he wasn’t able to pull away, but I didn’t have a real chance to attack once more either.”

Charles Leclerc (Van Amersfoort Racing):

“My start was good, I moved up one place right away. Then, I was in a fierce battle with Jake Dennis and Maximilian Günther, in which I came out on top. At the restarts, I always hoped for an opportunity to take second place from Felix, but I never managed.”
