Sebastian Vettel suffered a rather embarrassing crash at a slow speed during Milan F1 Festival event ahead of this weekend’s Italian GP at Monza.
The German was driving the current spec SF71H during F1 Festival in the city of Milan ahead of the Italian Grand Prix weekend at Monza. At a slow speed in a narrow left-hander, Vettel crashed into the makeshift barrier.
It is being said that Ferrari brought Kimi Raikkonen’s car for the event which is why Vettel had to adjust with the steering and clutch. Another shot with more shots from the festival: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKC58jramLk
The front wing suffered minor damage as he pulled the car in reverse and headed towards his mechanics to get the wing changed. The Milan F1 Festival is part of Liberty Media’s growing marketing initiatives introduced last year.
A roadshow took place in London in 2017, while this year the new owners decided to expand their programme in four key countries. The events in China and France were a success with Italy being the third in the list while USA (Miami) is the final one.
Meanwhile, Vettel did complete handful of donuts for the fans along with his Ferrari teammate Raikkonen. The Sauber drivers Charles Leclerc and Marcus Ericsson were also present for the event along with Toro Rosso’s Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley.
Sky Sports Italia were live from the event while the teams and F1 shared a lot content on social media:
