The Red Bulls have been the fastest not only with the hard compound but also with the soft. Ferrari suffered the high temperatures of the track and could not match the pace hopeful this morning.
In the first half of the session, teams have tried the hard tyres with low fuel load. The Red Bulls have been up and after them were the Mercedes and the Lotus with a surprising Kovalainen. The story has not been very different when using the soft tyres. Vettel was fastest followed by Webber, Rosberg, Hamilton, Kovalainen, Gutierrez, Hulkenberg, Grosjean, Button and Alonso.
At the end, long runs have been tested with high fuel loads and we have to mention the rapid pace of the Red Bull and, surprisingly, the Sauber’s. The Ferrari performance has been affected by the temperature difference on this morning, although it seems that the race pace is better than the lap time.
