Sebastian Vettel was the fastest in FP2 of the Mexican Grand Prix ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
Pascal Wehrlein and Romain Grosjean were the first to head out on track for the second free-practice session. Despite the temperatures rising up since FP1, the track lacked of grip and several drivers like Sergio Perez and Felipe Nasr found themselves spinning.
Fifteen minutes into the session, Lewis Hamilton was in the lead ahead of Carlos Sainz and Sebastian Vettel. The track kept on being trick as several drivers locked up on the first turn. Vettel took the fastest time to Hamilton with super-soft tyres.
Mercedes switch to super-soft was quite surprising as neither Hamilton nor Rosberg could go faster than Vettel. The rest of the session was dedicated to race simulations with soft tyres which suffered from a quick degradation.
Despite a problem in the beginning of the session, Romain Grosjean managed to go on track with twenty-five minutes to go. At the chequered flag, Daniil Kvyat had to stop his car in the pitlane entry following an engine failure.
Vettel has been the fastest of the second free-practice session ahead of Hamilton and Rosberg. Raikkonen, Ricciardo, Hulkenberg, Verstappen, Bottas, Sainz and Alonso completed the top 10.
