Max Verstappen, the Red Bull driver, faces his last Dutch Grand Prix with a less than optimal physical condition. In the pre-race session, the Dutchman admitted to feeling unwell, describing his symptoms as similar to the flu and expressing his desire to rest.
Verstappen, who has achieved three victories since the Grand Prix returned to the calendar in 2021, felt disappointed with his performance in qualifying. He finished in seventh position, far from the pole achieved by Lando Norris, with whom he had a gap of more than four tenths.
The Red Bull driver acknowledged that the team has tried to adjust the car, but they have not obtained the expected results. He argues that the Zandvoort track has highlighted some of the fundamental weaknesses of the RB22.
