Max Verstappen has achieved four Formula 1 World Championship titles and is now heading towards new challenges within his career, focusing on smaller goals after having completed his wishlist.
The Dutch driver, who dominated the championship between 2021 and 2024, saw McLaren take the 2025 title from him thanks to Lando Norris. Reflecting on his successes, which include 71 victories, 128 podiums, and 48 poles, Verstappen acknowledges that he has already achieved his major ambitions in the sport.
At this point, just over 28 years old, Verstappen is directing his attention towards more technical goals. In a pre-Grand Prix interview in Monaco, he mentioned that his main desire is to continue winning, although he does not have a list of major objectives like before. “The main one has already been achieved,” he stated.
The Red Bull driver is eager to achieve victories with his own power units, resulting from the recent development of Red Bull Powertrains in partnership with Ford, following their collaboration with Honda. This transition will come with the regulatory changes that will introduce a balance between electric and internal combustion power starting in 2026.
Currently, Red Bull is in fourth place in the constructors’ standings with 57 points, while Verstappen finds himself in seventh with 43 points and his new teammate, Isack Hadjar, occupies twelfth place with 14 points.
