Max Verstappen leads the drivers’ Top 10 list as well after team chiefs for 2021 F1 season from Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris.

After F1 released the team chiefs Top 10 drivers’ list for 2021, a similar list from the drivers was released too where they chose their Top 10 of the season. Co-incidently, the Top 8 finished in the exact same position in the both the lists.

Red Bull’s Verstappen topped from Mercedes’ Hamilton and McLaren’s Norris. The points for the drivers’ Top 10 list wasn’t released where 15 of them gave points anonymously. The drivers were allowed to vote for themselves in the higher side, but most didn’t.

The Ferrari pair of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc were fourth and fifth ahead of returning F1 driver Alpine’s Fernando Alonso whereby AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly and Williams’s George Russell rounded out the same Top 8 as seen on both the lists.

The change on the drivers’ list was for ninth and 10th where Alpine’s Esteban Ocon ended up ninth as opposed to 10th in the chiefs’ list who put Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas in ninth. The 10th place was occupied by a new entrant, Haas’ Mick Schumacher.

The German made a surprise Top 10 finish on the drivers’ list despite being at the back of the field mostly and beat the likes of Bottas and Red Bull’s Sergio Perez. Schumacher did put in a solid effort driving the Haas car to beat his rookie teammate Nikita Mazepin.

When compared with the real drivers’ standings, only the Top 2 finished in the same position as the team chiefs and drivers list. While Norris is third here, he finished fifth in the drivers’ standings, wherein Sainz was fifth and Leclerc seventh.

Likewise Alonso was 10th, Gasly ninth, Russell 15th, Ocon 11th and Schumacher 19th in the real drivers’ standings. The voters for the Top 10 list had 14 drivers in all with both Mercedes and Red Bull drivers choosing not to along with the Alfa Romeo pair.

The drivers who voted were: Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly, Nicholas Latifi, Charles Leclerc, Nikita Mazepin, Lando Norris, Esteban Ocon, Daniel Ricciardo, George Russell, Carlos Sainz, Mick Schumacher, Lance Stroll, Yuki Tsunoda, Sebastian Vettel.
