Max Verstappen has completed a perfect weekend at the Norisring, after victory in the first two sets, in this third and final today completed the play with a big win against Esteban Ocon and Jordan King.
Max Verstappen is showing great talent in recent race’s, as the Dutchman has made history in the FIA Formula 3 to get six wins in two races. Verstappen is a 75 points off the pace in a race managed Esteban Ocon, who seriously threatened their position in the Dutch unbeatable.
In this third and final set of the weekend, Verstappen booted again from the pole position, with his great rival in the championship behind. The track was much better than in the morning hours, where rain fell intensely over the circuit. Nevertheless accidents were not lacking, and just start a touch between Blomqvist and Jake Dennis left both out of action. Just start another incident in store during the test, as Roy Nissany and Jules Szymkowiak staged an early collision that led to the departure of the Safety Car.
On the seventh lap the safety car left the track and the green flag again gave way to action. Ahead there were no changes, therefore they handled it well Verstappen the start and held off the onslaught of Ocon and King. However for fourth an interesting fight between Santino Ferrucci, Sean Gelael and Gustavo Menezes was unleashed.
The laps went by and Verstappen came to four seconds ahead of Ocon and King, who kept their distance throughout the race, and thus secured the podium. Behind a few little changes and struggles, changes positions only some riders abandoned restraint. Despite the lack of action on the track, we could witness a great performance by the Colombian Tatiana Calderon, the tenth place is said to score points for the second consecutive weekend. Alexander Toril meanwhile stood at the edge of the points in the 12th end position.
Verstappen again ended the weekend with 3 of 3, and is dangerously close to the leadership of Ocon, who has lost much advantage with its zero this morning in the rain. We will see that this is capable of Dutch here two weeks in Moscow Raceway circuit, where another installment of this exciting championship FIA Formula 3 will be held.
