Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniil Kvyat are the elected drivers by Toro Rosso to participate in the tests with Pirelli in Bahrain next week. The Faenza-based team said that the French will drive the STR8 on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th in the morning, while the Russian will test on Wednesday evening and on Thursday 19.
For the Russian driver it will also be an opportunity to strengthen his driving at the wheel of a Formula 1 before his debut as a race driver next season. Thus, Kvyat may take some time to work with his new team and adjust to the settings of a car in the top category.
After different intentions and proposals for a training tyre developed for next season in most current cars, namely 2013’s, Pirelli finally received approval from the FIA to conduct such tests so, the Milanese brand along with Ferrari, Red Bull, Toro Rosso and Mercedes will be in Bahrain next week in order to work with the supplying tyres company.
