The Frenchman Matthieu Vaxivière will drive in 2014 for Lotus team in Formula Renault 3.5 Series, as the driver announced on his Facebook this afternoon.
Vaxivière was the champion in 2011 of the French Formula 4, fourteenth in the Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS in 2012 and tenth in the drivers’ championship of the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup this 2013 with 57 points, thanks in part to two wins in the first round of the championship at the Motorland Aragon circuit.
The occitan has already tested with Lotus during the special Post-Season tests of the Formula Renault 3.5 Series at the Circuit de Catalunya. A Lotus team that finished seventh in the constructors’ championship with two wins and a podium by Marco Sorensen.
The signing of the Lotus team Vaxivière is doubtful since we saw such as Limoges, failed to put up the fight for the championship this 2013, but with the Formula Renault 3.5 has been seen fairly quickly. Perhaps in a race he will fight for the podium, but will not be a big favorite. As the driver market as it is the World Series, Vaxivière will be a driver with a goal of finishing tenth in the championship and make 2014 a year to keep on learning in the category in 2015.
